During our last week’s lesson with our good studen Concepcion from Spain, we talked about “kaimaki” (Turkish word) which is one of the most important elements of good Greek coffee.
It all began from the exquisite Satyrical poem by G. Souris titled “O Romios”. The poem may have been written 100 years ago, however it presents a typical Greek. In it the following lyrics can be found:
The lesson continued to the beautiful cafe which is situated on 8 Rethymnou street, where -according to our director- one can have the best Greek coffee in the city.
It is worth mentioning that at any traditional coffee house, if you order Greek coffee and the “kaimaki” is not right, you can return it and ask for a new one!
