Dancing as a means of expression in Greece dates back to 1000 BC. Greek dances are closely connected to the tradition and the customs of the country and they are usually categorized according to the place of their origin -dances from Epirus, Thrace, Thessaly, Crete etc
Last week our students in Athens were taught the steps of Ikariotiko and Syrtaki dances. With the help of their teacher they learned the secrets of the dances and had fun moving to the traditional rhythms.
