Hello! My name is Marie-Caroline. I am from France. It was my second time in this school in Athens. I enjoyed it a lot… again! The school is located in Athens city center in front of a large and great park, called “PEDION TOU AREOS”. It is also close from Exarcheia, a lively area of Athens with lot of students, coffees, nice restaurants with mezze…. My apartment was located in this area and I felt like a Greek student although I am not a student anymore since a very long time! The school’s building is beautiful and there is a courtyard with flowers. The Greek lessons were very interesting and in line with my level and my expectations. They helped me to improve my Greek grammar, my vocabulary, my pronunciation … Apart from the language, thanks to the school, I learned also many things about the Greek History, the mythology, the Greek culture and about the Greek “diet” with which you can live up to 120 years old! The Director, my teacher, and all the members of the school were very welcoming and sweet. I was very happy. I hope I will have the opportunity to come back soon… for the third time!

The best 2 weeks I have ever spent. The people here are lovely and I learned so much! If I ever needed any help with anything at all, I could always ask them. My teacher was Elena, and I’m still in contact with her now. The school offered a lot of extracurricular activities, such as traditional dancing classes, museum visits, and dinners. But there were also a few activities which came about spontaneously, just because all of us (the students) were really interested in them (for example one of the best nights I’ve ever had in my life: watching “Iphigenia in Aulis” by Euripides in the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, on the foot of the Acropolis. Truly a magical experience. When I left, they gave me several books to continue my greek learning journey. I hold every one of these people in a very special place in my heart and I’m already planning when I can come back, because I want to relive this as soon as possible!

I attended Greek language classes for two weeks in August 2023. I attended the A2 course. I had lessons with a wonderful young girl named Vasiliki, who is an excellent professor. I had also a wonderful experience in communication with the school director as well as other professors and Irini, who works as an office manager. If you love Greece and the Greek language, this school is a wonderful experience! I would love to come again next summer! I recommend everyone to try it. You will enjoy! You will like it very much!

I’ve not only improved my Greek skills, I’ve also learned about Greek culture, history, family and friendship! My teacher Zoe was really committed. She always made sure that everybody in class understood her properly. She made learning a fun experience, I will never forget. I’ve got to know many interesting people from my, but also the other classes. The school is in a beautiful old building, right next to the park and many coffee shops / food spots. Each week, we had at least 2 activities in the afternoon. From going to the museum, to eating out in the evening everything was included. It was a great experience I will never forget. Thank you Center of Greek language & culture Alexander the Great!!!

“A Truly Enriching and Joyful Experience” The learning material was excellent, and both my teacher and dance instructor were absolutely wonderful—warm, supportive, and incredibly helpful throughout. Everything about the program, especially the activities, was genuinely fun and engaging. My time at the school was outstanding from an educational perspective—the lessons were interactive and thoughtfully designed. I had the pleasure of learning with Christiana, whose energy and enthusiasm made each class both interesting and enjoyable. I particularly appreciated the extra activities, such as traditional dance lessons and visits to museums, which offered a deeper insight into Greek history and culture. These experiences enriched my stay and complemented the language learning beautifully. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like.
