“They Made Me Feel at Home from the Moment I Arrived!” I am so happy that I came here! From the moment I first walked in, I felt welcome and at home. All the people in this school are so kind and always willing to help, creating a warm atmosphere that makes learning Greek both enjoyable and inspiring. The facilities are excellent – a very nice building with everything available, such as cold water and air conditioning. The educational material is very helpful and clear, with a great variety of dialogues, vocabulary, grammar, and exercises. It truly helped me take my first steps toward better understanding the Greek language. My teacher, Βασιλική, was very kind, patient, and encouraging. She gave us courage to speak and made it easier with clear grammar lessons, revisions, and her wonderful sense of humor. She created a great atmosphere for learning Greek and made the lessons both fun and accessible. I also loved the activities organized by the school. The trip to the Plato Museum with Αθανασία was unforgettable – it gave me new insights into Plato and enriched my experience. Nancy guided us so well and taught us a lot. The seminar on the Greek Diet was an eye-opener, helping me understand Greek culture and customs better. The school dinner with traditional food was simply fantastic, a perfect way to connect with others and taste authentic delicacies. The movie evening was also very interesting; it inspired me and taught me new things. After school, it was always nice to spend time with the other students and practice speaking Greek together. Special thanks to Κωνσταντίνος for the wonderful conversations and his informative lectures on Greek culture, food, and history, and to Ειρήνη for her hospitality and kindness, which made me feel truly cared for during my stay. I especially appreciated that the classes are small, giving each student personal attention and support. This personal approach, combined with the warmth of the whole team, made my time at the Alexander the Great Hellenic Language School truly unforgettable. I will continue learning Greek and I hope to come back to you in the future – whether online or in real life. — Student at the Athens school, August 2025

“A Life-Changing Learning Journey in Athens” Kalimera Everyone, I feel truly blessed to have found the Greek Language School “Alexander the Great” in Athens! The team designed lessons around my personal interests, turning them into exciting and enriching experiences that far exceeded my expectations. First of all, my teacher Eleni taught me so much about Greek Art History that my visit to the National Archaeological Museum came alive with meaning—from pottery and statues to weapons and artifacts. Thank you, Eleni, for your inspiring lessons and for sparking my passion for Greek art. Secondly, Nancy brought Greek Mythology and the great Philosophers—Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle—to life with such expertise that, while walking the streets of Athens, I could see their lasting legacy everywhere: in taverna names, temples, statues, and even the cave where Socrates was imprisoned. Thank you, Nancy, for the wonderful “World Poetry Day” you organized, which gave me the chance to share a poem from my own culture. Your lessons were unforgettable! Then came Vasiliki, who made Greek History and traditional dancing vibrant and fun. Her lessons brought Alexander the Great’s conquests to life and even inspired my weekend trip to Nafplio. Our dance classes, with her cheerful “1…2…3” in a circle, were joyful and full of connection. Thank you, Vasiliki, for always teaching with a smile and so much energy! I also had the pleasure of learning from Mr. Costas, as I respectfully call him, who introduced me to the essence of the Greek Diet—so much more than the Mediterranean Diet. He taught us the value of eating slowly, in good company, and respecting traditions like fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays. His teaching of Homer’s Odyssey was filled with such passion that I immediately wanted to buy the book. Mr. Costas, I will always carry Ithaca in my heart! A heartfelt thanks also to Irini, who was always there to help—responding warmly to every email, phone call, and request, and greeting me daily with a kind smile and a cup of coffee. You made my experience feel like home. To the entire team: thank you for bringing so much joy, knowledge, and inspiration into my life. I even wrote a poem about my travel adventures in Greece thanks to all of you. I loved the extra activities that helped us connect with Athens and with each other in meaningful ways. And, according to my Greek coffee grounds… I’ll be back in Athens soon! Keep making the world a better place by changing students’ lives through education. “The Most Important Thing I Gained Was Confidence to Speak Greek” I started lessons at the school on March 4th and spent three weeks in a group class. My level at the beginning was basic (A1)—I could understand and recognize some things, but I couldn’t speak yet. My teacher, Vasiliki, made the lessons really interesting. What helped the most was that she spoke in Greek from the very beginning. It was a bit challenging at first, but it helped me adjust to the language quickly. Her teaching style made a big difference—she explained everything clearly, and the classes were full of interaction and questions, so I was never bored. By the end of the three weeks, I felt ready to move on to A2 and even began preparing for the B1 exam. I progressed faster than I ever imagined, thanks to the structured lessons and daily homework—especially the writing exercises. The atmosphere at the school is also very warm and supportive. The staff are extremely friendly and always available to help with any questions. What I loved most about these weeks is that both my teacher and the school helped me feel confident when speaking Greek—and I believe that’s the most important thing of all. — Lea, student at the Athens school, March 2025
