Out of Class Activities: Saturday Morning at the Laiki — A Local Experience for Our Evening Students

As part of our long-term Evening Program, we recently spent a Saturday morning immersing ourselves in real Athenian life. Our students joined us for a visit to one of the most authentic open-air farmers’ markets in the city — the laïkí agorá on Kallidromiou Street. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and high-quality produce, this market is a staple of local life in Athens.

Students explored the stalls, practiced their Greek, and selected fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other seasonal treasures — all under the warm sun of one of the first summer days of 2025.

After shopping, we continued our local adventure with a relaxed and delicious lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in Exarchia, known for its excellent Cretan cuisine and authentic character — a true local favorite.

A perfect combination of language, culture, and community — and a morning well spent
