Conference for the project ‘A passage from Ancient to Modern Greek’

The British Hellenic Educational and Development Association organizes a Conference for the project ‘A passage from Ancient to Modern Greek’ in cooperation with LICEO CLASSICO STATALE ‘G. Mazzini’ (Italy), the CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF LEUVEN (Belgium), the INSTITUTO de E. SECUNDARIA ‘CARLOS III’ (Spaim), the BG HARTBERG (Austria), the NATIONAL HIGHSCHOOL FOR ANCIENT LANGUAGES AND CULTURES ‘ST. CONSTANTINE CYRIL THE PHILOSOPHER’ (Bulgaria) and the ELEA INFORMATION SYSTEMS LTD. (Greece).
During the conference, the project’s results will be presented (the book and the educational material).
This project was funded with the support of the European Commission, in the frame of the Project Socrates - Lingua II (Project’s number 229746 - CP - 1 - 2006 - 1 - GR - LINGUA - L2).
The aim of the project ‘A passage from Ancient to Modern Greek’ was the creation of a method for the tuition of Modern Greek language to students of classical lyceums and gymnasiums. It is also addressed to all those individuals, not only in Greece, but also abroad, that want to learn Modern Greek, having already the basic knowledge of the ancient language.
The developed material is addressed to the Beginners Level A’. The book consists of 24 units, with texts and vocabulary (with comments on the etymology or the use of the word in Ancient and Modern Greek), with grammar and exercises, as well as with word games.
