Life at school: The celebration of the “OXI” day at our school

On the 27th of October we celebrated the refusal of Greece to surrender to the fascist Italy of Mussolini and the start of our 6 months’ victorious war against the much stronger military forces of the Italians.

Our students (three of them with Greek origin) raised the Greek flag on our roof garden and , sang the Greek National Anthem . As always we ended with offering and eating Greek sweets, some of which have been brought by one of our students who had finished her one month course at the school.

Before the event we had distributed to the students a brochure with reclamations of famous politicians praising the Greek Resistance.
