Life at school: Playing the bouzouki in Athens

Our student David -retired university professor of the English language from Australia-  loves rebetiko and plays the bouzouki. As he told us, one of the reasons he started learning Greek, was because he wanted to understand the lyrics of rebetika songs.
Last Friday, we were very happy to listen to David’s interpretation of “Fragosyriani” -by the great Greek composer Markos Vamvakaris- at the reception of our school in Athens. Our students listened with excitement and applauded their classmate for his excellent try.
