Life at school: Becoming Elves for the childen

🌟 About “Ένα Παιδί – Ένας Κόσμος / One Child – One World

One Child – One World is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the well-being of children and families.
Their mission is based on the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
They offer free and confidential services aimed at prevention, support and empowerment, regardless of family structure.

Through programmes for early childhood (0–5 years), educational support for school-age children, psychological and social counselling, as well as cultural and creative workshops, they strive to support both children and their families — especially those facing social, economic or other difficulties.
Their work seeks to promote equality, social inclusion, and the idea that “every child is a whole world.”

🎄 The “Ξωτικά 2025” initiative

This year, One Child – One World is organising “Ξωτικά 2025” — a holiday giving campaign for children in need. Participants (volunteers or supporters) can “adopt” a child (receiving only their first-name initial, age and code) and prepare a gift for them. The gift is then delivered to the organisation, which distributes it confidentially to the child’s family to preserve dignity and privacy.

The idea is simple but powerful: “one gift per child”, a gift filled with love, care and hope.
On Saturday, December 13, the organisation will hold its “Annual Gathering of Elves,” where all collected gifts will be gathered, wrapped, and readied for distribution — along with fun activities for volunteers and children. Through this initiative, the organisation aims to bring warmth, joy and solidarity to children whose families struggle — or who live in vulnerable conditions — and show them that they are not forgotten.

🌟  Our School’s Participation

We are very proud to share that all the teachers and staff of our school joined this effort — each of us “became an elf” for a child, and bought gifts as part of “Ξωτικά 2025”.

We believe that by coming together as a community, we help spread hope, joy and solidarity to children who need it most. We thank everyone who participated, and we sincerely hope our contributions will bring smiles and warmth to these children during the holidays.

We are also very thrilled, because now we became officially Elves of the world and we have received official diplomas.
