It’s happening in Athens: Nia Vardalos brings Tiny Beautiful Things to the Greek stage

From Friday, May 16, 2025, the beloved Greek-Canadian writer, actor, and director Nia Vardalos presents Tiny Beautiful Things for the first time in Greek at the Pallas Theater in Athens.

Based on Cheryl Strayed’s bestselling book, the play is a moving collection of anonymous letters written to a literary advice column. The responses—signed “Sugar”—are full of raw honesty, warmth, and gentle guidance. Vardalos adapted the book for the stage and originally starred in the New York and Los Angeles productions, which received glowing reviews and led to sold-out performances across the U.S. and internationally.

Now, Athens joins this global success story. The Greek adaptation, translated and co-directed by Spyros Katsaganis alongside Vardalos, features a talented Greek cast: Dimitris Papanikolaou, Danae Loukaki, and Dimitris Kitsos.

This is a tender, humorous, and emotionally rich theatrical experience that speaks to the unspoken struggles of the human heart.

Catch it at the historic Pallas Theater—for a limited number of performances only.
