ΑΝ ΘΥΜΗΘΕΙΣ Τ’ ΟΝΕΙΡΟ ΜΟΥ
Το τραγούδι «Αν θυμηθείς τ’ όνειρό μου» είναι ένα από τα πιο γνωστά και αγαπημένα ελληνικά τραγούδια του Μίκη Θεοδωράκη. Η μουσική γράφτηκε από τον Μίκη Θεοδωράκη και οι στίχοι από τον Νίκο Γκάτσο.
Το τραγούδι έγινε γνωστό μέσα από την ταινία «Honeymoon» (Μήνας του μέλιτος) του 1959, σε σκηνοθεσία του Michael Powell. Η ταινία γυρίστηκε στην Ελλάδα και συμμετείχε σε αυτήν η Μελίνα Μερκούρη.
Το τραγούδι έγινε ιδιαίτερα γνωστό και εκτός Ελλάδας. Η μελωδία του Θεοδωράκη συνδέθηκε με την εικόνα της Ελλάδας και ταξίδεψε σε πολλές χώρες.
“An Thymitheis T’ Oneiro Mou” (“If You Remember My Dream”) is one of the best-known and most beloved Greek songs by Mikis Theodorakis. The music was composed by Mikis Theodorakis and the lyrics were written by the famous Greek poet and lyricist Nikos Gatsos.
The song became known through the 1959 film “Honeymoon”, directed by Michael Powell. The film was shot in Greece and starred Melina Mercouri.
The song also became very popular outside Greece. Theodorakis’ melody became closely associated with the image of Greece and travelled to many countries.

Η φράση «αν θυμηθείς τ’ όνειρό μου» σημαίνει κυριολεκτικά:

Στο τραγούδι, όμως, το «όνειρο» δεν αναφέρεται απαραίτητα σε ένα όνειρο που βλέπουμε όταν κοιμόμαστε. Χρησιμοποιείται με πιο ποιητική σημασία και μπορεί να συμβολίζει μια επιθυμία, μια ελπίδα ή μια όμορφη ανάμνηση.
Η φράση δημιουργεί μια αίσθηση νοσταλγίας και συναισθηματικής σύνδεσης. Το τραγούδι μιλά για την ανάμνηση, την απόσταση και την επιθυμία να μη χαθεί ένας άνθρωπος ή μια όμορφη στιγμή.
The meaning of the phrase
The phrase “Αν θυμηθείς τ’ όνειρό μου” literally means:
“if you remember my dream.”
In the song, however, “όνειρο” (dream) does not necessarily mean a dream we have while sleeping. It is used in a more poetic sense and can represent a wish, a hope, or a beautiful memory.
The phrase creates a feeling of nostalgia and emotional connection. The song speaks about memory, distance, and the desire not to lose a person or a beautiful moment.

Ο Μίκης Θεοδωράκης (1925–2021) ήταν ένας από τους σημαντικότερους Έλληνες συνθέτες του 20ού αιώνα.
Έγραψε μουσική για τραγούδια, κινηματογράφο και θέατρο και συνεργάστηκε με σημαντικούς Έλληνες ποιητές και στιχουργούς.
Η μουσική του έγινε γνωστή σε όλο τον κόσμο, ιδιαίτερα μέσα από τον «Ζορμπά», αλλά και μέσα από τραγούδια όπως το «Αν θυμηθείς τ’ όνειρό μου».
Για τους μαθητές της ελληνικής γλώσσας, τα τραγούδια του Θεοδωράκη είναι ένας όμορφος τρόπος να γνωρίσουν όχι μόνο την ελληνική γλώσσα αλλά και ένα σημαντικό κομμάτι της σύγχρονης ελληνικής πολιτιστικής ιστορίας.
