Our recent Greek poetry and music night in Athens became one of the most memorable cultural evenings of the year at our school. Last Tuesday evening, our students gathered in our beautiful neoclassical school building for a live concert filled with poetry, music, history, and emotion.
The special event, titled «Όση Αγάπη Απομείνει Μέχρι τον Επόμενο Πόλεμο» (“All the Love Left Until the Next War”), transformed the school into a picturesque setting that felt like a journey through another era of Athens.
A Special Greek Cultural Evening at School
The concert was presented by our teacher and tour guide Sotiris together with his band. Many students already know Sotiris through our cultural walks and educational tours around Athens. This time, however, they discovered his artistic side as a musician and songwriter.
The performance featured original songs inspired by important Greek poets of the interwar and mid-war period. Through live music and poetic lyrics, students experienced Greek culture in a direct and emotional way.
For many students, this Greek poetry and music night in Athens was also an opportunity to hear authentic Greek language outside the classroom and connect words with rhythm, emotions, and storytelling.
Our Neoclassical School Building Became a Time Machine
The atmosphere of the concert was strongly connected to the architecture of our new school building. The neoclassical design, elegant rooms, and warm lighting created the perfect environment for an evening dedicated to poetry and music.
Many attendees described the event as cinematic and timeless. The combination of live Greek music, historical poetry, and the classic Athenian setting made everyone feel transported to another period of Greek cultural history.

Greek and International Students Together
One of the most beautiful aspects of the evening was the mixture of people attending the concert. International students shared the experience together with Greek guests and friends of the school.
Events like this help students improve their understanding of the Greek language naturally. Music and poetry allow learners to discover pronunciation, rhythm, and emotional expression in a more personal and memorable way.
Several students recognized vocabulary and expressions they had recently learned during their Greek lessons. Others simply enjoyed the atmosphere and the opportunity to participate in modern Greek cultural life.
Learning Greek Through Culture
At our school, we believe that learning Greek goes beyond grammar and textbooks. Cultural immersion is an important part of the educational experience.
Throughout the year, students can participate in:
- Greek music evenings
- Film nights
- Dance lessons
- Cultural presentations
- Excursions around Athens
- Literature and poetry events
This Greek poetry and music night in Athens reminded us once again how language, music, and culture can come together in a meaningful way.
We would like to warmly thank Sotiris and his band for this unforgettable evening, as well as all the students and guests who joined us and filled our school with music, poetry, and positive energy.
