A Special Farewell for Christa After Six Months of Learning Greek in Athens
At our Greek language school in Athens, every student becomes part of a larger international family. After six months of studying Greek with us, it was time to say goodbye to Christa from Switzerland — a vivid and unforgettable personality who brought energy, curiosity, and a love of travelling into our school community.
Her time in Athens was much more than a Greek language course. Over these six months, Christa not only improved her Greek but also used Athens as a starting point to discover Greece and beyond.
Christa from Switzerland and Her Greek Language Journey
Christa joined our Greek language school in Athens from Switzerland and stayed with us for six months.
During this time, she became a familiar and much-loved face at the school. Her vivid personality and enthusiasm made her presence noticeable from the very beginning. She approached her Greek lessons with curiosity and, just as importantly, embraced the opportunity to experience life in Greece.
Six months is a long time to live, learn, explore, and create memories in a new country. By the end of her stay, Athens had become much more than simply the place where she attended Greek lessons.
Learning Greek and Travelling Around Greece
One of the most wonderful things about Christa’s stay was the way she combined learning Greek with her passion for travelling.
During these six months, she travelled around Greece, discovering different places, landscapes, traditions, and local experiences. From Athens, she had the opportunity to see more of the country and experience Greece beyond the classroom.
Her travels also took her to other countries, adding even more experiences and stories to her time abroad.
For Christa, learning Greek was therefore closely connected with discovering the world around her. Every journey offered new places to explore and new opportunities to hear and use the language.
A Student Who Loved to Travel
Travelling was an important part of Christa’s personality and of her experience in Athens.
She brought the same curiosity she had for travelling into her Greek language learning. Living in Athens allowed her to combine the structure of regular Greek lessons with the freedom to explore whenever she had the opportunity.
This combination is one of the things that makes studying Greek in Greece so special. The classroom becomes only one part of the experience. Outside school, students can practise what they have learned while discovering Greek cities, islands, villages, food, music, and everyday life.
Six Months Full of Memories
After six months, Christa’s Greek journey had become much more than a language course.
She leaves Athens with new language skills, countless travel experiences, and memories from her everyday life at our school.
For us, saying goodbye to a student who has been part of our daily school life for such a long time is always emotional. Six months are enough to create real friendships and connections, and Christa certainly left her mark on our school community.
Life at Our Greek Language School in Athens
At our school, we believe that learning Greek should be about much more than grammar and vocabulary.
It is about meeting people from different countries, discovering Greek culture, experiencing everyday life in Athens, and creating memories that continue long after the lessons end.
Christa’s six-month stay is a wonderful example of this. She came from Switzerland to learn Greek, but during her time here she also travelled, explored, met people, and experienced Greece in her own unique way.
We already miss her vivid personality at school and hope that her travels will bring her back to Athens one day.
