WE’ RE CELEBRATING ONCE MORE THE RETURN OF ODYSSEUS FROM OCTOBER 21 TO 31
In our School we have created a club, called THE RETURN OF ODYSSEUS and every year since 2017 we celebrate with relevant discussions and recitations of parts of the poem in Ancient and Modern Greek as well as in the languages of our students.
Every day we read from the Rhapsody, which corresponds to a Calendar, which we have compiled based on the date of the Mnistiroktonia, as determined by Scientific Research, which has been accepted by the Academy of Athens.
I note that the whole story in the Odyssey unfolds in 11 days, from October 21 to 31, with the addition of 20 days, from October 1, during which Odysseus built his raft in Ogygia, Calypso’s island, and sailed to Island of Phaeacians, Corfu.
We should not forget that ODUSSEIA of Homer is considered one of the most influential books of all times.
Our director led the students to read excerpts from various rhapsodies in ancient and modern Greek, as well as Ukrainian, English and French. The story of Nausicaa falling in love with Odysseus and our hero not reciprocating was emphasized more.
