Currently, there are two amazing films in cinemas that present the life and work of two leading personalities of the Greek artistic scene.
The first film “Maria” takes us on a journey through the life and career of Maria Callas, one of the most legendary voices of 20th-century opera. With exceptional sensitivity and depth, the film reveals the person behind the famous soprano’s public image, bringing to light the contradictions, sacrifices and conflicts that defined her path.
Maria Callas, a woman who collected countless laurels and distinctions for her musical talent, was also the face of tragedy. The film “Maria” highlights the psychological and emotional tension that Callas experienced, as she struggled with the rigorous success of her professional life and her personal contradictions, while at the same time being confronted with the unbearable pressure of being a public figure.

The second film “Υπάρχω” is a moving and deeply human reference to Stelios Kazatzidis, one of the greatest and most beloved singers of Greece, who with his voice managed to express the soul of the popular Greek world. Through the film, the viewer has the opportunity to travel through Kazatzidis’ personal and artistic journey, discovering the sacrifices, disappointments and emotions that defined him as a person and as an artist.
The direction of the film and the performance of the actor (Christos Mastoras) who plays Stelios Kazatzidis convey with heartbreak and emotional intensity the loneliness, disappointment, but also the strength of the artist’s personality. The music, which plays a decisive role in the plot, with the interpretations of Kazatzidis’ songs, embodies the folk soul and the pain of the people, emphasizing his relationship with his audience. With this film, the legacy of Stelios Kazatzidis comes alive again. His voice, his pain and his love for the people who followed him, continue to touch the hearts of the viewers.
