Last Sunday (March 6) marked the end of the 3 weeks Carnival period. The last week is called the “Cheese week”, as the Orthodox Christian tradition calls us to eat mainly food based on Dairy products.Last Monday (March 7), was the first day of the long fasting period – of 7 weeks – that will end by the week of Easter.
During these 49 days we avoid eating anything that comes from animals (meat, milk, cheese e.t.c)It is noted that a lot of restaurants and snack bars use fasting dishes in their menus.
The leaders perhaps in this tendency are the members of the snack food Franchise Network, Venetis.
