Less than 2 hours away from the port of Piraeus by flying dolphin, there is the beautiful and full of vegetation Spetses island. With an impressive history of 5000 years, Spetses is sure to impress you with its natural beauty.
Hop on one of the 33 horse cars that still operate today on the island and discover the old port, Saint Nicolas, Dapia. Visit the clock square, the  Chatzigiannis-Meksis mansion and the iconic Poseidonion hotel.  Do not forget to visit the museum and former house of the heroine of the Greek Revolution, Laskarina Bouboulina, which houses many of her personal items.
A visit to Spetses is ideal for those who would like to admire the beauties of the Greek islands, while staying in the capital. Greek language courses will continue throughout summer at our school in Athens and we would definitely recommend our students to visit the cosmopolitan island of Spetses, to live an unforgettable experience!
