On Wednesday, August 20, the students of our school visited the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments accompanied by their teacher, Maria. They enjoyed having the opportunity to listen to different kinds of music from different places. They were particularly impressed by the system of musical navigation in various places of Greece. Christine from Germany especially liked “rebetiko” and she decided to buy a cd with “rebetiko” kind of music songs from the Museum shop. Steven from Australia was delighted with the video highlights from carnivals and Greek dances. Belene from Spain left delighted after listening to music from all over Greece. The afternoon ended with a stroll around the alleys of Plaka and coffee at a cozy café called “Klepsydra”.
