Duration of Courses

General Greek

  • a. Compact course 2 weeks, 40 hours

    The course includes:

    40 hours of Greek language lessons
    2 hours Presentations (Greek literature, history, music)
    Film watching
    Free Internet access in the library
    Free educational material (books)
    Possibility of self-teaching, using educational software (multimedia cd) and guided by a teacher
    Dinner in traditional taverns (1 dinner)
    Visit to a Museum (1 visit)

    The topics of the Presentations (2 hours) are based on the students’ interests and could indicatively be about:

    Hatzidakis – Theodorakis, two great music composers
    Smyrni in 1922
    Karagiozis and the shadow – puppet theater
    The Athens Polytechnic uprising
    The History of Athens – a brief look
    The Olympic Games – Then and now
    Specialties of the Greek cuisine

  • b. Extended course 4 weeks, 80 hours

    The course includes:

    80 hours of Greek language lessons
    4 hours Presentations (Greek literature, history, music)
    Film watching
    Free Internet access in the library
    Free educational material (books)
    Possibility of self-teaching, using educational software (multimedia cd) and guided by a teacher
    Dinner in traditional taverns (2 dinners)
    Visit to a Museum (2 visits)

  • c. Summer course 12 weeks, 240 hours

    This course lasts 12 weeks and includes 240 hours of teaching (20 hours per week). All of the above offers are included.

  • d. Evening courses, 50 hours

    This is a less intensive course, ideal for those planning to stay longer or permanently in Greece. Two-hour lessons are offered, two-three times a week, upon request.

  • e. Private tuition

    It is possible to organize courses adjusted to the individual needs of those interested, with a flexible schedule and starting dates according to each student’s requirements.
  • f. Ancient Greek-Business Greek- Greek for Science-Teacher Training-Cultural Programs

    These Programs are organized either in groups or individually, upon request.

 

Optional activities with extra charge

  • Lessons of traditional Greek music (learning to play the “bouzouki” or another traditional instrument)
  • Athens sightseeing, visit to the Acropolis, to Museums
  • Daily or longer Excursions in places of historical – or generally touristic – interest (Cape Sounio, Delfi, Mycaene, Epidaurus)
  • Cruise to the islands of the Argosaronic Gulf (Hydra, Aegina, Poros, Spetses)
