This year the first of May coincides with the Orthodox Easter and so the celebration  will be transferred to the 3rd of May.

On Mayday Greeks make wreaths of flowers which they collect by themselves or they buy. We  hang them at the entrances of our homes and we leave them until the feast of Saint John on June 24 when we burn them . In the past but still nowadays Greeks on June 24th throw we throw the wreaths into fire  over which children jumped . The custom is the continuous of ancient custom and celebration for the longest day of the year on June 21 .
