On Thursday, October 9, the students of our school, after completing their courses, visited the Benaki Museum. They were impressed by the exhibited art and they were particularly interested in the paintings of El Greco and in the Byzantine collection. The history of the Great Fire of Smyrna also attracted their attention and peaked their interest. Their knowledge about the history of Smyrna was supplemented by a relevant presentation made during their courses in the school. Finally, from the terrace of the museum they had the chance to see the camp,where the training of the Greek Presidential Guard,an elite ceremonial unit that guards the Greek Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, take place and also the return of the previous shift.
